  1. Make it Spacious:

Make it Spacious

You can make your living room or bedroom look bigger by pushing the furniture to the walls. This way there will be more room to move around and the rooms will look bigger. Smaller houses can do better with neutral colors. Bold and bright colors give the illusion of a compact space. Buy a smaller coffee table (about two-thirds the size of the sofa).  Make the area brighter by installing in more lights and hanging life-sized mirrors to reflect that light. Bright and lit-up rooms also tend to make the space look bigger.

  1. Mix and Match:

Mix and Match

Houses are supposed to portray the lifestyle and personalities of their residents. Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through your house. Hang your favorite photos and artwork on the walls. Choose contemporary wallpaper for the walls and make sure the color scheme matches the frames. Experiment with furniture and mix that old furniture with some contemporary pieces. Again, make sure that the color scheme aligns to make everything look cohesive. Fill up your bookshelf with stories that have inspired you or are your favorite.

  1. Move Back:

Move Back Home Design

One big interior designing hack is to move back and look at the whole room from far away. This is a great way to put things into perspective. It lets you understand if there is anything that needs to be changed and how everything would look once it is done. Do the walls need repainting? Do the corners require some greenery? Do the walls look too empty? Does the rug need replacing? All these questions can be answered once you really look at your space the way it needs to be looked at

  1. Add Little Details:

Add Little Details

If you are on a budget, you can do really well with some small changes. Put an accent chair or a swing in the corner. Dress the coffee table with some fashion magazines and statement coffee table books. Alleviate the mood by lighting some candles (preferably scented). Make that window happy by putting a plant underneath it. Get a nice sofa throw and replace your old bedside lamps with new ones. Invest in some cute new bedding. After all, there is no better feeling than having fresh sheets on the bed.

  1. Give Some Love to the Bathroom/s:

Play around with colors in your bathroom even if they are small. Buy some new bath products to decorate that bath shelf and also to unwind after a tiring day of work. Put up a patterned wallpaper on one of the walls. If you have a higher budget, install some bathroom cabinets to keeps all your toiletries in one place instead of going from room to room for finding a flannel or a soap. If not, get a towel stand to put all kinds of towels in one place. Place a little rug beside the bathtub and invest in a toilet freshener.

  1. Give it a New Look:

Give it a New Look

Nobody is asking you to replace all your furniture with a new one in order to redecorate your house. There are small changes that you can make to give your furniture a new look. Vintage and old furniture may just need a fresh coat of paint. You can also just replace the knobs and handles to bring new life into the furniture. Contrast the knobs and handles with the color of the overall furniture. For example, if the furniture has a neutral tone, go bold with the knobs and vice versa.
